More than 700,000 pack of glue imported from China and seized by the Turin financial police throughout Italy were containing prohibited substances, toxic and cancerous. The investigation started with some techno-scientific findings on product samples sold in the Piedmonts capital, in which has been detected the presence of hazardous substances, in a greater concentration than the one allowed by the law. These include, in particular, dichloromethane and chloroform, which, if inhaled, ingested or absorbed by the skin, can provoke acute or chronic injuries.

The glue at hand was then found in two different deposits in Apulia and Campania. 10 entrepreneurs were denounced for a series of crimes: commercial fraud, false qualitative information of the products, placing on the market dangerous products and commercialization of items containing prohibited substances. The value of the seized goods exceeds the 2 million euros.
